Kona, a pittie mix that was saved, set out to make her future home happy on the day of her adoption. She played nonstop as a puppy with her mother, Collyn, and everybody else who came into their house. Kona made everyone happy whether she was chasing after toys or curling up for a little snooze with her family.
The sweet girl’s family saw many changes over the course of the following seven years, but her determination to see everyone happy persisted.
“She has made every day since then better,” Collyn wrote on Instagram.
Mako was the second puppy that Kona’s parents acquired after Kona was their sole fur child for a year. Kona traded in her carefree playfulness for a more mature manner as she embraced her new role as a big sister.
Kona and her family soon accepted a slew of foster puppies, each as ideal as the last, shortly after Mako became settled. Kona made sure her temporary siblings were tidy, secure, and abiding by the rules while Mako handled playing.
And at the conclusion of the day, she made sure to check in with her mom.
Celebrations were some of Kona’s best memories spent with her family. Kona was thrilled to join in on other people’s celebrations, whether it was dressing up for Halloween or attending her parents’ wedding. Collyn chose to have her own celebration because she loved her so much.
A few weeks ago, Kona was seven years old, and Collyn surprised her with a glittery tiara, a pink bandana, and a special visit from all of her favorite pals. Her first cake and a birthday song were performed by a group of her favorite people at night.
“I finally caved and got her a dog birthday cake for the first time,” Collyn wrote on Instagram. “She liked it.”
The kind girl was overjoyed with her birthday present. She was already happy spending every other day with her family and friends, but she was much more happy to know that she was adored.
“[She] was trying to contain her excitement and not eat the cake because I asked her to wait,” Collyn wrote in an Instagram comment. “She loved nothing more than having a room full of family who she loves, smiling and clapping for her.”

Kona received hugs from all of her friends and family as well as a plate full of peanut butter cake to celebrate being seven years old. Since then, she has been incredibly appreciative of her wonderful family every day, and they reciprocate her feelings.
“I couldn’t love her more,” Collyn wrote on Instagram.
