The “dead” dog found inside an Amazon box is actually a total lovebug.

When a woman in Pennsylvania stepped outside onto her porch earlier this year, she discovered a terrifying package. A white, fluffy puppy was lying in an open cardboard box, and he was still.

Startled, the mother dialed her daughter’s number, who is employed at Speranza Animal Rescue.

“My mom called me in a panic because she found a ‘dead’ dog dropped on her porch in an Amazon box,” the rescue wrote in a Facebook post about the event. “Turns out this boy wasn’t dead, he was just unconscious.”

Rescuers were devastated to learn the puppy was just a year old when they arrived. He experienced seizures, and his pupils were hazy. The ailing dog, later known as G.I. Joe, was taken into the care of a veterinarian by the rescuers, who started him on the appropriate medication.

FACEBOOK/SPERANZA ANIMAL RESCUE

Days later, G.I. Joe’s kind disposition started to come back. He made pals with his new dog siblings after moving in with skilled foster mother Karen Spangler. Spangler believed that the scenario would only last temporarily, despite the fact that she fell in love with G.I. Joe right away.

“I didn’t want another permanent dog to add to my family,” Spangler told The Dodo. “I told multiple family and friends I would not become a foster fail.”

FACEBOOK/SPERANZA ANIMAL RESCUE

But as the weeks passed, Spangler came to the conclusion that G.I. Joe—or “Joey,” as she refers to him—was too precious to part with. Already, the gentle, inquisitive rescue puppy had developed strong bonds with her other two dogs and her grandchildren. Spangler loved G.I. Joe and wanted him to be comfortable.

“I could not put him through another change,” Spangler said. “That was it. I became a foster fail.”

Spangler can hardly fathom her life these days without G.I. Joe. Her other dogs have already benefited greatly from the activity and exercise that her new puppy has given them. Spangler plans to take G.I. Joe for walks on nearby country roads in the near future and is looking forward to his continuing training.

“They always say things happen for a reason, and this is so true,” Spangler said. “My family needed Joey. Never in a million years did I think he would turn out to be so sweet and smart. [I]m looking forward to seeing where he takes us.”

The “Dog” that was discovered napping with all of her toys isn’t even a dog.

The forest animals in one Southern California neighborhood know exactly who to go to when they need restorative sleep. LouAnne Brickhouse, a resident animal enthusiast, has spent more than ten years tending to and recording the animals on her land. She has also developed a special technique for making one particular four-legged creature feel as comfortable as possible.

A lone female coyote was photographed by a trail camera dozing on Brickhouse’s back deck a few years ago. Although she felt the coyote may enjoy some companionship, she left a couple of dog toys out for her even though she instinctively knew to give the wild girl some space.

She gave the coyote the name Stevie, and he immediately fell in love with her toys. And she came back each day to give them hugs.

Brickhouse was thrilled to see that Stevie was as happy with the stuffies as she had anticipated. She installed cameras all over her yard, some pointed straight at Stevie’s preferred resting places. Soon, almost every video of Stevie on the deck had her cuddled up with many toys at once.

Brickhouse was shocked to find that the wild animal handled the plushes more affectionately than her canines did.

“Unlike our dogs, she has never ripped the [stuffie], and she never takes it with her,” Brickhouse wrote on her wildlife Instagram account, The Daily James. “It’s always somewhere to be found on the balcony.”

Brickhouse had seen hundreds of creatures in her yard, but none made her happier than Stevie and her stuffies. Brickhouse enjoyed witnessing Stevie cuddle up with her favorite toys while keeping a safe distance away. And it was always fun to have new ones to surprise Stevie with.

Here’s where you can see Stevie play with her Christmas stuffies:

Over time, Brickhouse dubbed Jack the male coyote that Stevie began bringing out on the balcony. The coyotes, who have a lifelong monogamous relationship, grew close. And without any delay, Stevie revealed to him her hidden stash of plush toys.

Even though Stevie no longer naps with her toys in the afternoons, she still keeps her stuffed animals near at hand.

Even now, Stevie and Jack still take naps on Brickhouse’s land with their plush toys. Even though their daily existence as wild coyotes is exhausting, they find solace in the knowledge that they have a kind neighbor who knows how to both assist and spoil them.

“While we don’t talk to her, as we don’t want her to acclimate or become trusting of humans, we love knowing she’s up there, feeling safe enough to rest,” The Daily James wrote on Instagram.

“It’s time for Grandma to be cared for well and allowed to rest.”

Grandma Somboon worked for 80 years in the logging and tourism industries after being taken from the wild when she was a baby. She should have been relishing her life, but instead she was on her feet all day, taking visitors for rides and putting in long hours at work. The Save Elephant Foundation was forced to assist Somboon after learning of her situation.

“It’s time for Grandma to be cared for well and allowed to rest,” the rescue wrote on Facebook. “We’re on a rescue mission to protect Somboon and transport her to her final true home.”

FACEBOOK/SAVE ELEPHANT FOUNDATION

Somboon was transported to the Elephant Nature Park sanctuary in late January after she was eventually freed from the area where she had been compelled to work her entire life. Somboon had thin skin, no teeth, and scaly, dry skin when she got to her new house. She appeared to know that she was at last safe despite everything.

FACEBOOK/SAVE ELEPHANT FOUNDATION

“Upon arrival, many new elephants, still plagued by paranoia and lack of trust, take weeks before they will lie down,” the rescue wrote. “However, Grandma Somboon defied the norm. Exhausted from her journey and a lifetime of hardship, she promptly sought the sand pile prepared for her, sleeping soundly amidst the bustling activities around her.”

Somboon had been standing her entire life, so she was quite happy to be able to sit down and have a rest when she finally got to a place where she knew she was appreciated.

FACEBOOK/SAVE ELEPHANT FOUNDATION

Somboon was unable to rise up when she eventually awoke from a deep slumber. Fortunately, her rescuers arrived quickly to assist her in getting to her feet and have been keeping a careful eye on her ever since to make sure she’s okay.

Grandma Somboon is doing remarkably well in her new sanctuary house. After everything she’s been through, she still has a long way to go before she fully recovers, but she is making progress. She is eating well, walking at her own pace, and taking lots of mud baths. Her rescuers are ecstatic that they were able to fulfill their dream and that she is now leading the life she was always destined to lead.

Outdoor Camera Catches Squirrels Adorable First Stretches After Hibernation

As spring rolls in across Southern California, hibernating ground squirrels are waking up one by one, well-rested and hungrier than ever. The tiny creatures scurry from their dens to the closest food source, stuffing themselves with hearty seeds, nuts and fruits. Enjoying their meal in solitude, they take in all the sunlight and sounds they missed while they were away.

But not all their post-hibernation activities are as private as they think. Especially when they’re on LouAnne Brickhouse’s property, where outdoor cameras are strategically placed to capture as many magical wildlife moments as possible.

INSTAGRAM/@THEDAILYJAMES

Brickhouse, who goes by The Daily James on social media and posts videos of her animal guests, is aware of the hibernation schedules of the squirrels in her area. She has been watching ground squirrels for more than ten years, and she is accustomed to seeing them hide when the weather gets too hot or cold. Additionally, she places delicacies throughout the property that will replace them when the time comes.

“California ground squirrels hibernate and estivate in extreme weather conditions,” The Daily James wrote on Instagram. “We haven’t seen them for months. But now they’re [back], and we’ll be sure to always have extra romaine lettuce and carrots in the fridge.”

INSTAGRAM/@THEDAILYJAMES

The bushy-tailed neighbors of Brickhouse are constantly appreciative of her donations. The squirrels feel especially safe on her estate because she rarely engages with them and gives them room. Additionally, when they visit, they frequently take their time to rest.

Recently, a drowsy ground squirrel emerged from hibernation and headed straight for Brickhouse’s house. She had left him some fresh nibbles on her back terrace, which he munched on. The adorable pup celebrated by taking a much-needed stretch after finishing his first meal.

INSTAGRAM/@THEDAILYJAMES

The squirrel took full advantage of his spontaneous yoga practice, stretching his front and back legs till he felt rejuvenated after spending months underground in a dark den. He gulped down another food and completed his post-hibernation stretch before racing off on his next excursion.

You can watch his adorable stretches here:

Brickhouse is still searching for the last creatures that are hibernating and will soon come out into the warm sunlight. Brickhouse is a polite and considerate human neighbor, and the other animals feel lucky to have her, but she feels lucky too.

“We consider them our friends,” Brickhouse wrote on The Daily James’ website. “It is no exaggeration to say these friends have completely changed our lives, taught us how to respect and love, and provided profound insights into our world.”

Heartbroken Dog Won't Stop Staring At Photo Of The Best Friend She Lost

This adorable pit dog, Greka, resides in Mexico with her mother, Delvia González.

Like other dogs, Greka’s favorite activities are playing and spendingTime spent with those closest to her is captured in this photo that a broken-hearted dog can’t stop staring at.

Greka has never met a person that she doesn’t like, but she has always had a particular someone in her heart.

DELVIA GONZÁLEZ

González would leave Greka with her mother, Delvia, who is 70 years old, each day before heading to work. She eventually developed into much more than just a pet sitter, though. Greka and Delvia quickly became the closest of friends.

“They kept each other company and always spent time together, spending their time playing fetch with the ball, and when they got tired, they’d start watching TV together,” González told The Dodo.

DELVIA GONZÁLEZ

Greka was always up for their enjoyable times together. Additionally, she was there for Delvia no matter what.

“My mother had diabetes, and because of that, her vision was affected. She could hardly see, so Greka was a support for her,” González said. “When my mother felt bad or when she had a change in her glucose levels, Greka always told me, and she stayed by her side. She always laid at her feet wherever she was.”

She had the devoted dog by her side all the way to the end. Sadly, Delvia passed away a few weeks after being brought to the hospital.

“Greka was the first to enter the emergency room. She was very desperate and worried about her grandmother,” González said. “We wanted Greka to know that her grandmother would not return, and for that reason, the day we buried her, we took Greka to say goodbye. We brought her close to her coffin. She cried a lot. She trembled with sadness, but she understood that her grandmother was resting in peace.”

Delvia passed away, but as this heartbreaking video that González recently posted demonstrates, she is never, ever forgotten:

González displayed a picture of her mother in her house as a memento. Greka can’t keep her eyes off of this picture.

“She is very sad,” González said. “She approaches the photo, takes the ball to her grandmother and sits waiting for her to throw it to her.”

Greka has been receiving the most consoling attention from González. She finds solace in her own manner as a result.

“I feel my mother with me every time I hug Greka or every time she brings me her ball,” González said. “Her love for my mother has kept us together to endure this very difficult process.”

Greka and González recently went to the beach, and she sent them a sign, indicating that she was still with them.

DELVIA GONZÁLEZ

A good dog may elicit love that lasts a lifetime, and the same is true for their affection. Greka’s eyes tell González that this tie is not easily broken.

“They had a very special bond,” she said.

Meet Cooper, a unique dog with a rare deformity and a loving life!

He deserves a caring home because he is still a dog! 🏡❤️

Cooper, an American foxhound, persevered in the face of daily challenges brought on by a rare hereditary illness. Many find encouragement in his narrative of perseverance.

Cooper had to face an extremely difficult existence when he was born on a puppy farm. When Cooper was found by rescuers in 2017, they were taken aback by the dog’s ability to survive. There are just 30 dogs worldwide known to have Cooper’s rare genetic illness. It is anticipated that inbreeding—which is unacceptable in dog breeding—caused his disease.

One would perceive Cooper’s appearance to be incredibly strange. His spine is shortened and connected, giving the impression that he is missing the middle of his spine and has no neck. Cooper finds it extremely difficult to move as a result, and his excretory system is severely compromised.

Although Cooper’s survival is remarkable, if he is not given the right care and attention, he will [d.i.e] soon. He was put in a Secondhand Hounds shelter. He was adopted by several families, but they were unable to embrace his uniqueness. Cooper was fortunate to have found Elly Keagan’s family, who are a caring family.

She brought Cooper for treatment right away with the aid of Secondhand Hounds; he had a [serious infection] and [broke] a bone. However, a miracle occurred: Cooper lived through the procedure and is in good condition. The good news is that his excretory system has improved, despite the fact that his butt looks strange because it is always looking up.

Now, Cooper is leading a happy life, he often gives his owner sweet kisses. Cooper is friendly to everyone and has become a social media idol. Cooper’s life is special in its way, but he’s still lucky to have met a loving family. Thousands of other disabled dogs are [dy.ing] day by day, so it’s our duty to love them no matter how different they are.

You are an amazing human being with a beautiful soul, just like this little baby!!! We need more humans like you!! Thank you for all you do!!!

Lovely story and all the very best to Cooper and his loving family. Bless his heart but a happy dog with loving humans 🙏

The man who rescued the baby deer’s life is the one who she will not leave.

The man who rescued the baby deer's life is the one who she will not leave.

Unbelievably, animals are more appreciative than people are.

This is really amazing. What a sweet guy, and I’m so glad the child is back with her mother. This adorable and wonderful little deer ❤️ was overjoyed to be saved.

The baby deer believes that the man who saved her life is also his father!

Outdoor enthusiast Darius Sasnauskas from Lithuania saw the birth of two baby deer in his garden, which is located close to Yellowstone National Park in the US.

She couldn’t keep up with them, so her family abandoned her after one of them was tragically harmed. He chooses to take her home since it is clear that she has little hope of surviving on her own.

The baby deer had recovered her health, therefore it was time to release her. She did, however, keep returning to Darius because of how deep their bond was.

After receiving meticulous care, the deer’s health has improved. Darius fed the fawn food every four hours, and his dog frequently licked her face.

Darius remarked that he does not favour keeping wild animals as pets.

However, this was a unique circumstance. She had no hope of surviving on her own because there were so many predators around. She follows me and is already accustomed to me, but no one can ever truly replace her mother.

Darius tried releasing her back into the wild several times, but she kept returning to him.

The mother eventually made her way back, and the young deer was reunited with her family and allowed to return to the wild. A few months later, Darius spotted the deer again; this time, it was growing swiftly and experiencing every moment of life.

I sincerely appreciate you saving this young deer, mending its limb, providing for it, and showing it love until it gained the strength to be returned to its mother.

What a tiny 😇 Angel she is! Thank you so much for saving her! 🙏

Animals have a lot to teach people about compassion and lifelong relationships!
